out with the sand in with the snow

bright and early saturday morning we hitched up and headed out.

we recently joined thousand trails. it’s not that we want to camp in places like this, but it’s nice to be a member and have the ability to stay when we need it. the spaces were pretty tight, but our space #78 had a huge “front” yard. it was empty because the big guys couldn’t fit.

funny story … when we stopped to change drivers (mike drives forward. i back up), the neighbor came running over to mike. he said that we should pull thru because the last guy tried to back in three times before giving up and moving on. oh really? between my mad backing up skills and mike’s excellent directions, nailed it on the first try 🙂

we drove about thirty minutes to the storage place. frank the 4runner has been there a couple of months, but we needed to hitch seymour up to him and leave them both. for an entire month. so sad. and so hoping that nothing happens to them. that’s our house. we’d be devastated if something happened. storage

finally started the very long drive to tahoe at 11:00. early birds we are not! stopped along the way for a leg stretcher. the combo of the desert brown, the blue skies, and puffy white clouds was really pretty.

a little morning lake tahoe walk. it’s pretty up here. at 6,220 feet you get winded quickly. but that’s what naps are for, right 😉
