joshua tree in the day

now that we’ve seen joshua tree in both the daylight and night, i’m not sure which one i like better!

warning: there are a lot of photos. if you don’t like big rocks and cool joshua trees, you should pass on this one!

we pulled over and watched for awhile. i wonder if they knew that we could hear them. this lady was about half the way up. the guy above her and the lady on the ground were yelling, i mean encouraging, her to keep going. and telling her which rock to go for. we heard the lady say she wanted to come down a couple of times, but the others kept telling her to keep going. she finally did make it. nothing like a little peer pressure!

back in palm springs we saw this cool spider beetle

and caught a fabulous sunset amongst the windmills
