since lone rock was getting a wee bit rowdy, we decided to check out where our new friends moved. they were somewhere down some dusty road about 10 miles from hwy 89. on the way there, we thought since we are only staying for a couple of nights we don’t really want to go that far down a bumpy road. we knew of another gravel parking area where the blm folks said we could boondock, so we thought we’d check that out. imagine our happiness when we pulled in and there was greg, amy, and gary (amy’s dad) already setup. turns out they didn’t want to go down that long, dusty road either. we asked if we go join them, then flew back to pack up. quickest hookup and departure ever!
the next morning, the three of them were heading to buckskin gulch and asked if we wanted to tag along. it’s is the longest and deepest slot canyon in the southwest… it was fantastic!!!
scout will try his best to avoid muddy water. he actually stopped during the hike and refused to walk thru the water until he realized that was the only way to pass. sam, on the other hand, has no problem barrelling thru. of course the one with all the fur likes to get muddy. at least he’s great for the wash off and brush out afterwards
