mid May 2014
i got back to phoenix from nc around mid may. we had to be on orcas island on june 15, so we had to pack up and head out quickly. as always, it was great hanging out with gail and her family. mike stayed with them while i was back east. our west coast family is starting to grow!
what a perfect spot for visiting rv’ers. they even made us a brick patio. thank you!
the best part about towing your house, is that you can stop for lunch and bathroom breaks wherever you’d like. we like long dusty road, with no people. no rest stops for us!
going west. right into the setting sun
a quick stopover at the thousand trails in palm desert. we’ve stayed there several times. it’s a really nice place. lots of sites, people are quiet, and the facilities are spotless.
love to see the sunset on one side
and moonrise on the other. both of the photos were taken while waiting for the traffic light to turn green. i’ve got to admit, i am missing california a little.
up early the next morning for a quick walk. dog training = dogs off leash, walking beside the road, but staying on the grass. real life!
it’s like a spiderweb of roads
LA traffic rocks. i tried to stay right behind mike but people kept sliding in. please don’t hit our house!!!
stopped in glendale for lunch and a nap. found this fantastic little parking spot right in the shade
oooh!!! i can see water. seymour’s first time being on the actual west coast!
we stayed a couple of nights at thousand trails rancho oso, just outside of santa barbara. i didn’t realize how mountainy and pretty is was out there. it was really nice.
the next morning, the boys and i got up for a sunrise hike. love that the full moon was still out
our shiny bubble in the midst of non-shiny squares
beautiful wildflowers. probably weeds, but they were still pretty
